   ☞Bingsu is ice dessert : shaved ice with syrup. 

HOT SUMMER! Is there any good way to make it cooler?

Certainly, there IS!!--------------------->The Bingsu!!!

We found several bingsu stores near Sinchon in 10-day challenge period, and we would introduce them to you.

No.1. CAFE ICEBERRY - 05/31/12

Cafe Iceberry is one of the greatest store specializing in bingsu, and almost everyone in kyla's class might know where it is. When you go straight from our school to sinchon subway station, you can easily find here. The bingsu of this place is very famous.

 The name of this Bingsu is 'Tray Bingsu'. This is for two people. We think that the reason why its name is 'tray' bingsu is that it is so huge that it can take up the hole tray. There are various fruits such as kiwi, banana, strawberry, and fruits punch. In addition, there is an vanilla icecream. Surely there are shaved ice, condensed milk, and adzuki beans.

Wow >▽< We are here at Iceberry to eat bingsu!!

HOWEVER.....The bingsu was too huge for two of us to eat. We left this amount of bingsu because we were full ㅠ0ㅠ When you go to Iceberry, you had better order smaller size than the number of people with you. For example, order bingsu for two people when you go with 2 other friends. Bingsu in this place is large in quantity.

No.2. HOLLYS COFFEE - 06/01/12

The above picture indicates HOLLYS COFFEE at Sinchon. However, Sinchon HOLLYS doesn't offer bingsu service. ㅠ3ㅠ Instead, we visited HOLLYS in another location.

Cafe HOLLYS didn't have bingsu in their menu originally, but they brought out the bingsu as a new menu in this year. This is 'Grapefruit Strawberry Bingsu'. There are vanilla gelato, strawberries, sticky rice cakes, grapefruit syrup, condensed milk and shaved ice. At the bottom of the bowl, you can see pink color. That is grapefruit syrup, the highlight of this bingsu. It is greatly delicious.

No.3. A TWOSOME PLACE - 06/04/12

Our third destination is 'A twosome place'! This cafe is very well known for its cake rather than bingsu. However, we try this cafe's bingsu! Because A Twosome Place is located on the Sinchon station, exit 2, anyone can find it easy.

There were 3 types of bingsu: a Citron Bingsu, a Milk Tea Bingsu, and a Tiramisu Bingsu. This bingsu consists of some pieces of iced tiramisu cake, ice with coffee grind, and adzuki beans. This bingsu is a little bit unique, special. The amount of bingsu is adequate for two or three people, but the taste is not so good considering the expensive price. Especially, tiramisu cake and bingsu are ill-matched taste.

This photo is very exicited and anticipated Sarah and Nara, becase this day was horribly hot and Sinchon station is too far from the inside of our shool! The bingsu was so coooool!:-)

 

No.4. Caffe Bene - 06/05/12, 06/07/12

'Caffe bene' was selected our fourth and fifth tour place. There are several Caffe benes in Sinchon, and we visited Caffe bene near the Sinchon train station. Numerous Caffe benes have big size in common. This cafe was also very big, and we took seats at the first floor. This day was also very hot, but the cafe was not so cool.....:-(

Actually, we visited there to eat the NEW bingsu, but it was sold out!! So we ordered the most famous bingsu, strawberry bingsu. There were strawberry gelato, iced strawberries, ice with condensed milk and adzuki beans. It is so sweet because of much adzuki beans! It was as might have been expected.

We are always happy in front of food!!:-D

 

Again Caffe Bene : Another Day At Caffe Bene!

We didn't give up eating the NEW bingsu: Wine Cheese Bingsu. So we revisited the Caffe bene and fortunately this day this bingsu was selling. The bingsu's ingredients were ample: creamcheese gelato, many pieces of cheese, ice with wine syrup, raisins, and cranberries. This bingsu was the most expensive among the six bingsu. However, the taste was not familiar to us, and the pieces of cheese were too big. It was sufficient bingsu, but we don't highly recommend to buy and eat it. Especially, NEVER eat the tiny green thing at the top of the bingsu.

No.5. Ho-Mil-Batt - 06/08/12

The last place was the most expected place! This place is so famous for its soft bingsu and many people are always waiting for bingsu. 'Ho-mil-batt' is located on the opposite side of the Sinchon train station. Yonsei suttle bus always passes by this place, so many students might often see this place. We were also waiting for about 15 minutes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We ordered three bingsu: a Milk Bingsu, a Coffee Bingsu, and a Fruit Bingsu. Ho-Mil-Batt bingsu is very unique because of finely grinded ice. The ice was very very soft and melted away in the mouth. Coffe Bingsu is milk bingsu with coffe syrup and grind, and Fruit Bingsu is milk bingsu with various fruits such as pineapple, watermelon, banana, strawberry, kiwi, etc. Another distinct characteristis is that this place offers bingsu and two broads of sticky rice cake on adzuki beans separately. Additionally, we can refill adzuki beans limitlessly!!

Our social welfare major friends visited Ho-Mil-Batt together and we were so happy!!

There are six types of bingsu, an adzuki-bean gruel and four types coffee in menu of this place.  A strong point, the price is relatively cheap.^.^

 

This is THE END of our 10-Day Challenge : Bingsu Tour. We had a very great time eating delicious bingsu and forgot heat wave thanks to this project. We hope this bingsu information could help our classmates fight with sultry heat and enjoy summer and delicious bingsu :-)
